I have had success learning and installing new technology recently. I was not understanding how to get this sink painting to be not posted sideways. But well here it is. I am amazed at recent progress on the kitchen sink series. My first painting was from 2001. It has been a long time of being distracted, bored, unhappy with them, struggling with my own kitchen sink issues. I guess it fits that doing a series on this theme would be challenging. It is also challenging to face a sink full of whatever. I am thanking God for the miracle of progress today.
I call this painting "singles bar" because this is where I put socks that are looking for a mate. One sock was there for over a year and I finally found the mate. It had been folded into a sheet.
The palm tree has grown a lot since this. It has four heads and is about a foot from the ceiling. Maybe I will have to paint it to show how it has changed. I like to paint that idea. I hope to post more changing things in the future. I am painting a series of works showing process and change. Here is a painting of a glass--I painted the same glass three times: empty, full, and half-full (or half-empty). For this painting it is not clear which one is first and how it changed. I like to contemplate the glass half-full/half-empty idea, that both are good. If the glass is half-empty, that means I drank half of it, and that is not bad or negative. I can be grateful.
