I am happy to admit that I am a little more comfortable with rest. I have made progress in being able to say "no" and accept help. It is not my usual way of thinking, and sometimes I have to walk through feelings of obligation, guilt, fear, and disappointment in order to allow myself rest. I feel sorry (a little) for not posting here in my blog for over a year. After about 23 posts on the topic of rest, I think I want to move to another topic. I have not been able to decide on a new focus, so I'll just share what I have been up to. I have found over 92 letters from World War II. Most are from my father to his parents. He was in the United States army, became a lieutenant in the Signal Corps and served time in New Guinea. I have transcribed them and put them in order. My father rarely dated his letters so the order has been a challenge. I am also writing out memories of my father long after the war, I hope to make a book that uses both the letters and stories from after the war. Like making a portrait, I am seeing details, yet I can't see everything. There are shadows and light. More will be revealed. One day at a time.

This sounds like a wonderfully fulfilling project, Linda! Blessings on you as you sort through things and begin crafting the narrative. It will help you know your father so much better.
